118. things that go bump in the night

silent lucidity

*

The fear of losing you was stronger than:
getting up at six a.m., no coffee, classical music playing low.
It crept around the room while you were sleeping.

(keeping my eyelids open)

Without your breathing,
I am still afraid of my own shadow on the wall.
And the things that go bump in the night.
