7. about the girl in the picture: polaroids

I pushed the shutter release that afternoon because there was nothing special left for us to do.
The camera’s uneven whir joined us in the the timid sunlight of her rented apartment.
When I found the picture years later, I almost didn’t recognize myself in it.
